Before you register
Registration Rules & Participant Terms
These apply to every Suroboyo Mlayu Bengi registration. By registering, you and each participant you register accept the terms below.
1.Registration & payment
A registration is only final once we have received your payment and a confirmation has been sent to your email. Until then your slot is held temporarily.
You have 3 hours to pay by QRIS and send proof of transfer, from the moment the order is created. Payments are confirmed manually by our team during our service hours.
Service hours: 08.00–21.00 WIB
Orders past that deadline expire automatically and the slot returns to the quota. You may register again while places remain.
By submitting the registration form you confirm that everything you have entered is true, accurate and complete, and that you accept the terms on this page.
2.Purchase limits
Each identity is limited to 4 tickets. For the Couple category the limit is 1 set (2 tickets) per identity.
The limit counts against the buyer email address or phone number — whichever reaches it first. Orders beyond the limit are refused by the system.
Registration closes as soon as the quota is filled, without prior notice, even if the announced closing date has not yet passed.
3.Cancellations & changes
Paid tickets cannot be cancelled and are non-refundable for any reason, including if a participant cannot attend.
Tickets cannot be transferred or resold to anyone else.
Participant names can still be corrected by replying to your confirmation email, as long as race packs have not been printed. Once printed, names cannot be changed.
4.Participant age
Children under 6 on race day enter free and need no ticket, but must take part accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Participants aged 6–15 need their own ticket and cannot register on their own: the order must also include at least one participant aged 16 or over, and the buyer confirms they are the parent or legal guardian.
Participants aged 16 and over on race day may register on their own.
Participant details that do not match their identity document may result in cancellation without a refund.
Registration is open to Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals alike.
5.Health & risk
By registering you declare that every participant is in good health and fit to take part in a 5K night run.
Any medical history you provide is used only by our medical team, for treatment on the day.
Participants take part at their own risk. Stop and find the nearest medical marshal if you feel unwell during the run.
6.Race pack
The race pack contains a jersey, a medal and a bag. The jersey size follows the choice made at registration and cannot be exchanged once printed.
The race pack schedule, venue and collection rules are announced on this site and on SMB’s official Instagram. Watch both channels as the collection date approaches.
Bring the original KTP — or a passport, for a foreign national — of the participant named on the entry when collecting a race pack. The QR code alone is not enough: the desk checks the document against the registration details.
Anyone may collect on your behalf, bringing a letter of authority (surat kuasa) carrying a Rp10,000 duty stamp, a copy of your KTP or passport, and their own original KTP. Your signature must cross the stamp — partly on the stamp, partly on the paper — as required by Law No. 10 of 2020 on Stamp Duty.
SMB's official surat kuasa template is available here, with the duty-stamp box and the signing instructions already on it: Race Pack Collection Authority Letter.
7.Conduct & safety
SMB takes place at night on public roads in Surabaya. Follow the directions of the marshals, crew and police along the route, and stay on the marked course.
Arrive at the venue before the announced start time. Wear your SMB jersey, and pin your BIB to the front of your chest where the crew can see it clearly.
For everyone’s safety, participants may not bring glass containers, sharp objects, alcoholic drinks, pets, or bicycles, scooters and other wheeled aids onto the route.
Smoking is not permitted in the event area, and clothing or accessories carrying religious, ethnic, racial or political messages may not be worn. The crew may hold any prohibited item found during checks at the start area.
⚠️ The route is NOT fully closed. It runs on busy roads, more so on a Saturday night, so an open-close system is used: marshals and police officers help participants cross at set points. Never cross on your own without an officer’s signal.
Wearing someone else’s BIB, cutting the course, or behaving in a way that endangers other participants may end your participation on the spot, with no refund.
8.Pace & route support
SMB is a fun run, not a race. There is no time target and no ranking — you may run, jog or walk all the way to the finish.
The run starts at 19.00 WIB, with water stations, lighting and marshals along the route. Everyone is expected to finish around 20.30 WIB — an estimate, not a cut-off: the rest of the evening’s rundown begins on schedule whether or not every participant is in.
You will not be left behind. Every group is accompanied by a marshal and a pacer, and the pacer stays at the back of their group — like a sweeper on a mountain hike — to see everyone safely to the finish.
9.Belongings
Bring as little as you can. Keep your phone, keys and wallet on you, in a running pouch or belt.
There is NO official baggage deposit. If a partnership with a baggage vendor is arranged we will announce it on this site and on SMB’s official Instagram — until then, plan for none.
The organiser is not responsible for the loss of or damage to personal belongings during the event.
10.Photography & media
The organiser may take photographs and video throughout the event. By registering you permit that material to be used to publicise and promote Suroboyo Mlayu Bengi, without compensation.
11.Personal data
We collect each participant’s name, date of birth, identity number, contact details, emergency contact and health information — all of it for registration, safety and running the event.
This data is accessed only by the crew who need it, and is never sold to third parties.
To correct or delete your data, contact us at the address below.
12.Changes to these terms
The organiser may update these terms where necessary. The version on this page is the one that applies.
